Forgiveness is something that our Lord Jesus Christ demonstrated to the whole world.  When all mankind disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, they died spiritually.  The Lord had warned them in advance that when they east of the tree of knowledge of good and evil they would surely die. Out of his mercy, the lord visited Adam and Eve in the Garden and promised a solution through which all mankind would receive forgiveness.  This solution was the offspring of the woman. Let us now discuss the topic of forgiveness referring to both the old and the New Testament. Read more in Business Training in Kenya.

Forgiveness in the Old Testament

Due to human being’s sinful nature, man has time and again done evil in the sight of the Lord and was in desperate need for forgiveness.   When the children of Israel were delivered from Egypt, they were exited and praised the Lord for his Mighty power in delivering them.  Before it was long they fell into unbelief and complain to God and to Moses.  The Lord showed forgiveness to them and did not destroy all of them in the wilderness.

At the foot of Mount Sinai, they worshiped Idols when Moses stayed long on top of the mountain with the Lord.  The Lord would have killed all of them but he forgave them when Moses interceded for them.

The people of Nineveh fasted in deep repentance and the Lord showed his forgiveness on a people who had been too wicked that the Lord had vowed to destroy them.

During the time of Judges, we see Israelites doing evil before the eyes of the Lord again and again.  Whenever the Covenant people sinned against God, He handed them over to their enemies to discipline them and the moment they repented turning away from their wicked ways the Lord was always forgiving them.

 Forgiveness Jesus teaching on forgiveness

At the beginning of his ministry, Jesus said “If you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive men their sins, your father will not forgive you (Mathew 6:14-15).  Since the Lord forgave us when we were dead in our transgressions and sin, we ought to forgive others.

To Lead a life of forgiveness, one has to be filled with the Love of Christ

1). Christ who was filled with unconditional Love prayed for and forgiveness for these who were crucifying him.

2). Stephen who was filled with the Love of Christ, prayed a prayer of forgiveness to those who were stoning him to death. To be able to forgive unconditionally, you must be able to see the spiritual state of the other person accurately. Non-believers have no choice but to wrong other people continually be cause they belong to the Devil.  The reason why believers forgive and embrace non-believers is for the sake of sharing the Gospel to them.  If believers in Christ do not extend forgiveness to non believers it will be impossible to evangelize them.

To fellow believers, we should always see the Jesus in them.  In so doing we will forgive them unconditionally.  They are in a state of Spiritual growth and in Gods time they will be healed of their Spiritual Problems that cause them to wrong others.

Forgiveness does not have to depend on your feelings. You have to do it no matter what you feel because the Lord said that you should forgive the way your heavenly father forgave you.  God’s children have to be constantly filled with the Holly Spirit so much that they get comfortable with the uncomfortable people.  As they do that, forgiveness will not be a hard thing to offer.

Those with the mystery of relying on the Lord alone can always forgive others. They are never swayed by peoples’ complains or compliments.  With a habit of forgiving others, you will time and again find joy and love within the grace of God.

Un forgiveness is a strategy of the Devil.  To win over it, you must learn to be oriented towards Gods solutions rather than man’s problems.  You may not be responsible for the wrong done to you but forgiveness is taking a Biblical action where as un forgiveness is a sinful reaction.  No matter what another human being does to you, practice forgiveness.
